The Smokie Intros and other tracksis a compilation of all the Intros Martin has written since he joined Smokie in March 1988. These tracks were previously unavailable until a fan from Germany asked if there was any way they could obtain the music. Martin decided that he could create a more varied album by including one track from each of "Loch Ness Enigmas" and "Senses and Impressions" as well as three tracks which are due to be included in his next album of World Music. Track 15 titled "Kenyan Sunrise" won first prize in the Unisong International Song Competition held in the USA. So far the album has been duplicated in Martin's own studio and been made available in very limited numbers, but he does plan to produce a version for release in greater numbers which include "Caledonian Lament" as Track 17.The artwork is likely to be "typically Scottish".

Loch Ness Enigmasis the soundtrack to The Official Loch Ness
Exhibition in Drumnadrochit , Inverness-Shire. It is not
just the Nessie story but charts the geological changes in the Earth,
the periods during which dinosaurs were present, the environmental
changes and the history of sightings of the strange creature which has
yet to be explained by science. Written in association with the
Exhibition's own scientist and narrator, Adrian Shine, each of the 17
tracks provide the backdrop to very different stories. The narration
and the video can only be experienced at The Exhibition Centre but the
music is available on this CD. It covers a wide range of moods from
gloomy, murky, scary, romantic, heroic and patriotic to grand,
technological and comical.

Senses and Impressionswas inspired by a very popular lady in England called Hannah Hauxwell. She is famous for her independence, stoicism and old fashioned values. She lived alone in harsh conditions in desperate poverty and yet spent what little money she had mostly on her animals. Yorkshire Television made several documentaries about her and Martin wrote her theme music. He then went on to create the rest of the album while staying in the Australien outback. Regular walks through picturesque bushland surrounded by Australian wildlife inspired the music contained in this album.
